What is a PEGI rating? Why does Super Smash Bros Brawl for Wii have 12+ on the box but has a PEGI rating of 3+

I hate violence of any sort and personally find any games where you have to thump or wrestle someone very unpleasant. I know even games for littlies have this sort of thing and I turn a blind eye to it if it's on their Nintendo DS, as I'm not subjected to it. But I'm really not keen to have it on my TV set in the lounge.

Obviously something called "Super Smash Bros Brawl" is not going in my trolley! But I would like to understand this PEGI thing.

It has a PEGI rating of 12+, that's what the 12+ on the box means. Amazon are just listing the wrong information for it.

You can search any game on the PEGI site.
