Miele fridge freezer?

Are they any good? Any negative aspects at all? Are the shelves, drawers etc sturdy enough to hold things without cracking or breaking?

Am about to replace a disappointing Bosch one and want somethig that will last years.

I have a Miele fridge, rather than fridgefreezer, and I hate it with a vengeance! So pleased to see this thread to vent some anger on.

It is precisely the fragility of shelves & drawers which is the problem - I think every single one of my shelves wobbles because the supports have snapped off, crisper drawers have both cracked. I have had the thing for nearly 3 years (but problems started long before now) and really don't think I have subjected it to any unusual wear. My old fridge is a Siemens, now in the utility room and is in much better shape. I understand Siemens & Bosch are the same? I have a Bosch freezer which is okayish quality, but miles better than the Miele tat!

I have had two Siemens fridge-freezers, and my mother also has a Siemens one (after falling in love with mine ). I highly recommend.

no

I have a Miele fr/freezer and it is lovely.

The glass shelves are fine, the plastic ones in the door have got very cloudy where milk has spilt - impossible to clean off, it's like it reacted to the milk? Weirdy.

Otherwise everything lovely.

I like the fact the doors are made of metal, not plastic. Supposedly the engineering is built to last 20 years. Not sure about the plastic bits though.

Anna - my mother craves my Miele! Maybe I'll let her have it and get a siemens...

You could buy replacement shelves for the door? I have already replaced one shelf on my Siemens.

Flightattendant4 · 31/10/2008 17:01

Hm that is a good idea.

However I fancy fridge shopping

Anna8888 · 31/10/2008 17:02

I need to shop for a new cooker - my oven is very dodgy... I daren't plan Christmas without a new one.

ohdearwhatamess · 31/10/2008 19:28

Hmm. That hasn't helped at all.

Are Siemens and Bosch definitely one and the same? My Bosch is only 2 and a bit years old (and just out of guarantee) and has 2 badly cracked salad drawers, 2 cracked door shelves, and the seal has cracked all the way down. I looked into replacing parts but it would cost as much as getting a whole new f/f.

Does anyone know who makes the John Lewis ones?
