I'm thinking of getting one for ds (18 months as we travel to family quite a lot - most of the time its 2 1/2 hours and he wont sleep anymore.

Doed anyone have any ideas/tips? Ideally I'd like to get one that is as cheap as possible but have no idea what I'm looking for or what we actually need.

Obviously it would need to be strapped to the headrest - do they all have the function to do this? Anything else I need to look for?

Many Thanks

He's a bit young at 18 months.... I know I know but driving 2 1/2 hours myself with him crying and whinging is getting dangerous, especially with winter coming - hoping Iggle Piggle will entertain him

well i got mine off e bay 7 inch screen for 25 pound they do need to be on head rest to keep it still as to not have disc jumping about

only thing i find i find is you need closed ear head phones on them as sound is dulled right out and got my ds normal flat head phones and he couldnt hear a thing

the same as my ds but cheaper than i bought it lol

we got my ds one as he has ASD and we have to do 7 hr journey to my dp mums and was a godsend to have him so content on journey as dp was getting very stressed when driving and finding it hard to concentrate

bubblagirl · 30/10/2008 08:27

no not really as they are classed as a distraction to the driver they play loud outside of car but all the noises in cat=r cause it to be a little quiet unless cartoons itself would keep him occupied you can hear it slightly but a little quiet may be ok for 18 mths

ds is 3.6 and obviuosly at an age of wanting to heat=r the story

we have got one sort of like that and it came from argos as well. We have one that you dont need headphones for and you can adjust the volumes on each screen so it isnt too loud in your ears. They have come in really handy as we drive 300 miles or so to visit the inlaws and it keep the kids happy in the back - dd (nearly 5) is in charge of changing the discs and ds (2) just watches.
