I am thinking of getting one of those electric scooters to make my 22 mile round trip a little cheaper. Has anyone got one? If so how has it been? Is it as cheap and problem free to run as they say?

my 80 year old mum has one and although it says it has a 22 mile range, it really doesn't, probably only does about 7-8 miles when it's got a person plus shopping etc on it. I think bumpy pavements, kerbs and hills drain the battery too
