Where to find Long John PJs for 4 year old (other than Boden/Gap)?

Pannacotta · 21/10/2008 22:20

Would love some of these for DS1 as he gets so cold at night, but can't find any in the shops and cannot justify £30 for two pairs from Boden (no Gap here but I know they do sell them).
Any ideas where to look?

M&S do them I think but you have to look for them. John Lewis do them (at a similar price).

Primark PJs are actually OK - but they aren't the tight ones like the GAP/Boden ones.

ilovemydog · 21/10/2008 22:21

Same problem with DD - except would prefer without 'High School Musical'

JackieNoHeadJustABloodyStump · 21/10/2008 22:23

The White Company (but still £26 for a 2-pack). Nice and thick though.

FangolinaJolly · 21/10/2008 22:24

Aldi were sellingthem last week.I got dd some (They were burgundy coloured, though!) FOR £4.50.Up to age 11.

Pannacotta · 21/10/2008 22:24

Thanks, will check M&S website, though I couldn't see any in local store, have checked JL and none there either.
Also wanted to avoid Night Garden/Thomas/Bob the Builder etc etc which lots of shops presume all 4 year old boys must wear!

M&S on line do them.. some great ones.

JackieNoHeadJustABloodyStump · 21/10/2008 22:24

Oh, and the Boden ones really are as tight as they warn - I ordered the size 3-4 for DS who's quite a petite 4-year-old, and he couldn't actually get his hands through the cuffs. I sent them back, and got the White Co ones instead.

DesperateHousewifeToo · 21/10/2008 22:27

ds(7yrs) has thermal long johns and long sleeve t-shirt from millets. He wears them under his rugby kit and loves them as they are very soft and cosy.

Pannacotta · 21/10/2008 22:27

Only M&S ones which are tight are Xmas design, will check White Co though, hadnt thought of them.
Was the size ok for White Co JackieNo?
DS is not actully quite 4 yet and tall but skinny.

Yes - the White Co ones are fine - he hasn't actually worn them yet - am waiting for the really cold weather to hit. DS is pretty slim, but the elastic in these is good - plenty of give, so not uncomfortable, but goes small enough that the trousers don't fall down. We have some summer versions that were DD's, and have been passed on to DS, that he wore at age 3 and this summer, age 4. Still looking good.

fin42 · 21/10/2008 22:37

Next have some in their Xmas directory. £12/£13/£14 for a 2pack pair depending on size and only up to 6yrs.
I bought thermal long-sleeved vests and long johns in the sale at Mothercare last year but I don't know how much they were full price.

Pannacotta · 21/10/2008 22:39

Thanks, will check Next too, and great idea re the vests and long johns, really wanted things with cuffs/elasticated bottoms so they dont ride up.

Jo Jo Maman Bebe do pjs up to 5yrs. Look good. Think £5 off if you buy two pairs.

MabelStark · 21/10/2008 22:46

Boots do some lovely ones - can get Advantage cards points and treat self to yummy stuff!!!

fishie · 21/10/2008 22:49

i got ds some old navy ones from ebay but they like gap are fairly thin.

oh how i loved my damart cosijamas as a child. i'd love some now, they were quite elegant.

Pannacotta · 21/10/2008 22:50

Boots v cute I agree but no long johns, will look at jo jo, really like their things had forgotten to check their range.

ha well maybe not

BoffinMum · 21/10/2008 22:55

Hey, Tchibo brilliant and very cheap for things like this because it's cold in Germany. Great wellies, slippers, ski gear, thermal jeans and so on. Only snag is they run out of stuff very quickly as they have a different promotion every week. www.tchibo.co.uk

JackieNoHeadJustABloodyStump · 22/10/2008 08:14

How about Fleecy under-layers at Muddy Puddles? If you want things with cuffs.

SpookyButNice · 22/10/2008 08:21

DS has these - they're very comfy and soft!

lillypumpkinpie · 22/10/2008 08:24

They were doing kids thermal set in my local Aldi yesterday

Batters, my mom brings Hanna Anderson with her from the US, but if you order it from here, how much is postage and do you have to pay a massive customs charge?
