Need to update DS4's carseat. Would you recommend a Recaro?

Hi. I had the same thing 3 weeks ago. It was a toss up between this and the Britax Evolva 123. I went to a specialist baby shop and they said the Britax came out better in crash test reports and they recommend that over the Recarro. I did like the recaro but am very happy with the britax one. Hope that helps!

Thanks npg - yes I'd looked at the Britax too. I have a couple of hours child free tomorrow so might go and have a proper look.

Thanks for your help

We have the Recaro and it's a very good quality comfortable seat. It is narrow at the base and fitted into our car better than the Britax. I don't know about the crash test reports but in the end it's just as important that it fits your car properly.

Yes I agree you need to make sure it fits in your car properly. Both fitted in mine and I went with the advice from the car seat specialist even though I liked the look of the Recaro one more! How did you get on?

i also had the same debate,i also bought the evolva due to the fact it done better on the safety tests.
i used to have a recaro seat for my ds,and it was comfy and looked nice, but we had a few problems, and although it has a 3yr guarantee, their customer service was a nightmare, took them 4 months to send me a new part!and that was with me constantly phoning them.
if you do buy recaro i would def get it from a local shop than on the internet, that way its easier to get any problems sorted out.

Hello, I bought the Evolva. I had a chance to get into town yesterday and didn't realise that the recaro is a website exclusive at Mothercare. They had an Evolva in stock and it looked very comfortable so I bought it.

Puzzling over what the little safety strap with the smiley face is on the shoulder strap though.

He slept in it all the way home so I think he approves

You are right saz - I have had a quick look on Britax web site. He still wiggles out of them though.
