Specialist dry-cleaners in London sought...

Anyone out there have a really good address they could share with me? My parents have unearthed a beautiful old wall-hanging from my childhood and I'd love to have it spruced up and on disply for my children to enjoy (it's a life-size print of a brass-rubbing of a knight's tomb, just the thing for ds).
Trouble is, it is on Irish linen and has acquired some odd-looking pink stains on its travels. I am pretty sure they aren't rust or mildew.
I really need to get it to some kind of specialist cleaner for advice and restoration. Happy to pay for good service but want to be confident the people I deal with really do know their stuff.
Any suggestions most gratefully received...

Bumping this, still hopeful someone out there with a background in interior design/textiles might have an idea?

Blossom and Browne are apparently the biz - they used to do our in-house one at work (not that most people had linen wall hangings)

Jeeves of Belgravia have always done things well for me - I only take particularly expensive/fragile garments as they are a lot more expensive than others. Might be worth a try.

Thank you both so much! Exactly what I was hoping for. Sir Robert de Septfonts may ride again after all...

Want me to ask my ex the museum curator who used to curate textiles?

Marina · 15/03/2005 16:35

Yes please provided it is not basically an illicit canoodling excuse MI , or likely to get his hopes up too much!
That would be most kind.
I would like to reassure Prufrock that the rest of my aged ps' possessions are mainly Dralon and MFI tat, as they have thoughtfully given away their small amount of decent furniture over the years

I can promise you that no canoodling will be invoked.

I'll email him now, also a couple of other people who might know.
