I'm thinking of getting a new hoover and have decided on a Dyson. Just wanted to know if they're all they are cracked up to be?

I've got carpets and wood floors.

Dont get a Dyson .... very heavy and always break.

Unless you want to get to know the Dyson engineer who comes to your house to fix it ... leave well alone !!!

kjq · 07/03/2005 13:03

Is there a hoover you can recomend?

I love my dyson

Get an upright one.....mum got through 2 little ones in a year . We had wooden floors- it was defo the best hoover we've had....I'd never have another one. All my mates have them too and I don't think any of us have had a problem!!

vict17 · 07/03/2005 13:06

I love my Dyson too and we've had it for years and it hasn't broke

Ailsa · 07/03/2005 14:08

I love my Dyson too, it's lasted much much longer than any of my other hoovers.

Dysons have hard floor tools you can buy which are great if you have wooden floors/laminate.

beachyhead · 07/03/2005 14:09

get a henry.....

Kayleigh · 07/03/2005 14:10

Have had no problems with my Dyson. Very happy with it.

Hated my dyson - it lives in the garage and only gets to clean the cars. Miele is the best make (even which agrees) and sooooo quiet after that stupid dyson beast.

anchovies · 07/03/2005 14:26

Ive had my dyson for 4 years with no problems, is really good on our laminate floors

Carameli · 07/03/2005 14:27

I got a bosch ergomaxx recently and I love it. Its really powerful and great on both carpets and wooden/tiled floors. Its also really light to pull around. We live in a flat so I cannot comment on how easy it is for stairs.
Which gave it a good write up, I gotit online for about £120 I think????

Peckarollover · 07/03/2005 16:32

Does anyone know where I can get a dyson hard floor tool not on the dyson site?

redsky · 07/03/2005 17:07

i was pleased with my dyson to start with - then it seemed to lose suction but i couldn't find a blockage anywhere. then dyson sent an engineer round who did find a blockage in a bit of it i could never have accessed - now it works brilliantly again!!!

Millie1 · 07/03/2005 18:23

I love my Miele Cat & Dog.

Sponge · 07/03/2005 18:25

I've got a Miele too and it's brilliant.

jane313 · 07/03/2005 18:25

My dyson barely picks up anything. I would never buy another one.
