Two pairs of shoes really necessary for a toddler??

I've just bought 19-month-old two pairs of winter shoes - one pair more like little boots, the other girly shoes. I only really did it in a panic cos I couldn't decide which ones would be best. Boots great for winter but maybe shoes look nicer with dresses and tights?
Of course, now I realise that it's probably a total waste of money given the rate that shoes are outgrown. The boots have already been worn so I was going to take the shoes back. Or is it better to have more than one pair? Can anyone advise before I go bonkers worrying about making the right decision?!!

My toddler has a few pairs of shoes because I like them to have chance to air and dry out between wears.

Then again my toddler does have quite sweaty feet and it stops them being too smelly.

Mine only had one pair of shoes (well, apart from in the summer when I'd buy Doodles or sandals as well) until they started school. She'll outgrow them in no time - I'd take the shoes back and save yourself some money

my dc all have a couple of pairs of shoes/boots but thats because something they would wear in the garden/park might not be suitable for normal day to day..
I always have wellies
cheap trainers
a decent pair of shoes or boots

i'd stick with two, just incase one pair gets soaked in puddles - or is that just my son???

At 19 months one pair of shoes.

I have only ever kept one pair of shoes plus one pair of "specialist" shoes (wellies in winter, sandals in summer). But before a holiday I get DS measured and buy the next size up. We then wreck the old shoes on hols but I take the new ones with me in case of losing a shoe away from home.

mine has 4 pairs - well boots from clarks (everyday out n about ones), wellies (dog walking/woods), slippers (house) and 'outdoor' cheapo jobbies for the garden.

19mo DD has one pair of proper fitted shoes, plus wellies for wet days, and cheapo slippers. Seems to work for us!
