dh and I accidentally found ourselves watching a shopping channel last night and were entranced by the steam mop they were selling. Do they really work? does anyone have a make they could recommend? thanks.

Don't have a steam mop but do have a wallpaper steamer which has a cleaning attachment and is quite good on carpets. Am tempted to get a steam mop so will watch this thread ...

Would that be the H2O mop? I love the look of them. Will watch this thread with interest.

it did look awesome, no chemicals too which has to be a bonus. I like the idea of it as currently dd is weeing pants and floor most days and it's a real faff to clean it. This one was about £60 I think but I'd love to find something cheap and good.

ooh my hubby is totally obsessed by the h20 mop lol so i will also be watching.
most of the stuff on the shopping channel can be picked up much cheaper on ebay.

get it from qvc www.qvcuk.com

as you get a 30 day return policy to decide if you like it.

it's an amazingly persuasive advert isn't it?

I do wonder if I've reached the age where I am #1 sucker for the majority of these infomercials!

i got one from good food show (we were all hypotised I think by the demo), they are good, but TBH not any better than mop and bucket. I have wood floors, tiled floors and laminate and can use it on all of these - wanted really to be able to clean in the grouting of the tiles but it doesn't do a perfect job I'd say.
However it doesn't leave a water mark ont he floor
On balance, ok if you can get one cheap.(get spare mats as well for it, they come off mine BLACK! )

tullytwo · 08/10/2008 18:14

Popmum I have all wooden floors - so it is safe to use on them?

popmum · 08/10/2008 18:21

yep, ok on wood floors - it is not really wet you see -you keep it moving and it sort of wipes it. Good at getting black marks off (say from the side of a shoe)

this is what I have
