Faulty Bugaboo

Please help Netters! I have a Bugaboo Cameleon. Recently, the seat has begun swinging right back when I bumped the pram up a kerb/step. I returned the pram to Mothercare and at first the assistant was suspicious of my complaint, but after calling Bugaboo she seemed to be of the opinion that Bugaboo were aware of this fault and said she was advised the white discs at the side were faulty. New ones have been sent, but i don't want to take a chance...Has anybody encountered similar problems?

Don't panic! There has been a faulty batch and the new white button kit will sort it out.

We've have quite a few of them back to our shop just recently but the modified parts are fine and will solve the problem.

Tea do you know about a base fabric fault at all? Mine was bought Feb 2007 and I washed them for the first time at 30 and they have shrunk!!!! I also have a frog and washed them loads and they are fine???

I have to take them back to mothercare but have no receipt and no m/care sticky label but am hoping the purhchase is on their system as the warranty was sent to Bugaboo???

Same happened to me bongosmum. The pram shop where I purchased gave me a whole new seat frame straight away and Bugaboo also sent me replacement white buttons. How old is your Bug?

Cargirl, which fabrics do you mean? The canvas seatbase fabrics (the same ones as the shopping basket) or the top coloured ones (the same as the hood)?

If you have the fleece top covers then there was a problem with a certain batch when washed. The fire retardent coating didn't wash well and Bugaboo replaced them with new ones. You do have to go through your retailer though.

If its the canvas base part then it also sounds faulty. Take it back to the shop you bought it from, they can order new ones for you. They will need to know your serial number and purchase date, Bugaboo won't replace anything without those.

Thanks teacake.

Actually both lots!!!! Mothercare already switched the fleeces but at that point I didn't realise that the bases had shrank because I hadn't put it back on the frame! I have washed my frog fabrics loads of times and they've been so I can't see it being my machine as it was 3 different wash loads.

Everybody THANK YOU!

I did make a fuss and emailed the board of director's at Mothercare...they then got in touch to uplift the pram. After testing though, they have said that there is no problem with the pram. I have challenged this as I don't want to look like a liar.

Initially when i returned the pram to the store the assistant at Mothercare spoke to Bugaboo. She said she had got the impression it was a know fault as immeadiately the assistant said Bugaboo offered to replace the white caps.

I have asked for the pram to be returned.I am proposing a reinactment with my video camera...However, it will involve putting my daughter in it!! Crash helmet at the ready!

They did offer me £400 or a new chassis, very reasonable, but it's the principle for me now. You don't buy an expensive pram and accesories, then be too afraid to put your child in it after a year!
I also hate to think that they (Bugaboo/Mothercare) are aware and haven't let owner's know. It really is dangerous!!
