Is he a gadget bloke? My DH just bought himself a "Wireless weather Station". Well it is about £20 and consistsof an outoor monitor easily (must be, DH did it) fixed to a north facing wall. The neat little inside monitor tells you the inside and outside temperature, the maxand min for the day and the movement of air pressure (ie will it rain or wll it shine).

Got it on Amazon called Smart Weather and it is a whopping 10.7 degrees C now here cpmpared to last nights 0.4 degrees c at eh same time.

I poo pooed it but it has actually been quite fun!

ANd yes, you are right, we don't get out much...

Welcome to the world of the professional sado!

Another thing DH has which is great if you live in a rural spot (or just want to spy) is a little camera thing that is showerproof and which detects movement in day or night. It will then record ten seconds of the shot. You just get a little memory card or two and they pop in and out of your pc just like the digital camera ones . And you end up of shots of deer/ badgers/water voles or whatever (neighbours peeing in your ornamental conifers). That is about £100 but has been a nice little toy if you are interedted in nocturnal stuff. It also records during the day and we left it in our yard (hidden but trained on the door)when we were on holiday in case we had any undesireables lurking.

good luck!

Ach, go one get a night vision thingy too, you will be able to give police genuine footage of TWOCers robbing your Volvo as well as accurate prevailing weather conditions at time!

Star witness for the prosecution I'd say!!!

Look forward to comparing forecasts with you in due course!
