red/white hearts colour scheme for girls bedroom?

dd1+2, maybe dd3 as well will be sharing one big room at new house.

they are, of course, obsessed with all things hearts.

a few months agi found some lovely red and white bedding, curtains etc in mainly white, with red heart trims.

now of course, i cant find it, and am stuck on where to look for stuff.

also would a v v red carpet look odd in sunny room, with white walls?

carpet might not look odd, but would fade insanely.

Better a diff carpet and one red wall.

Simplysally · 29/09/2008 22:38

I'd say a white or cream carpet with one red wall or red borders.

misdee · 29/09/2008 22:39

am not sure on white/cream carpet as all girls will be under the age of 10.

Ikea do really big red rugs- that over a beigey carpet perhaps?
If you find the bedding, let me know- I love the sound of it!
Agree about one red wall- would look fab.

egypt · 30/09/2008 01:51

agree a red rug would be better of a light cream carpet. what if their fave colour next year is yellow or something. v expensive to change a carpet.

i was looking for aaaaaaaaages for stickaround hearts. you'd think it would be easy peasy. but tis impossible.

have you checked andyslinens.co.uk ?

egypt · 30/09/2008 02:14

its .com
but i checked, it doesnt have what you are after
have looked everywhere, cannot find red heart trims anywhere! you have me addicted now!

egypt · 30/09/2008 06:48

Hey Missdee - this is exactly the theme I have gone for in soon to be DC3 nursery (as it was painted vivid red in the first place) It took me ages to find accessories and soft furnishings, but in the end went for

Next 2008 vintage range (now discontinued) but if you type Next Vintage into ebay and look under ohme section, there is still a lot of stuff there from bunting to curtains, to throws to pictures....

Soft furnishing wise I have gone for a combination of Laura Ashley Bibi and Red Gingham and again, found someone on ebay who has made me cushions and blackout curtains......All furniture is white as are the windowsill, door and skirting boards to keep it light...have stripped back the floor, and will whitewash that whitge as well...hopefully get a rug to match the range soon!!!

GOOD LUCK!

misdee · 30/09/2008 09:10

dozy, that was it, the next range. seeing as its discontinued now, i will check choice in the galleria and see if its still available there. as i need 3 lots of duvet covers, plus curtains.

misdee · 30/09/2008 10:52

Dozymare · 30/09/2008 13:33

rubyrioja If your thinking of getting rid of rug, I'll nab it of you - shredding and all can't find one anywhere, and very anal about "matching"

misdee · 30/09/2008 13:39

GORGEOUS - am sooooo tempted to buy for when cot eventually goes to cotbed to bed (erm 4 years time!) even I am not that cash rich...what a bargain though and would look lovely with red hearts...did you check out ebay for laura ashley red gingham and bibi pattern....lots of heart stuff there as well!

misdee · 30/09/2008 14:01

i ordered 4 sets . on the basis my mum might be able to turn one set into a pair of curtains. thats used all my extr savings though. eeeek!

fortunatly the money for removals is already set aside in another account lol.

lovely lady on the phone found me a £10 off voucher as well, so had to make it to £80, so ordered two sets of these for babys room

so white on 3 walls, one red, now will hunt out some red hearts for accessories.

have decided on cream/stone coloured carpet and will find some red rugs preferably in heart shapes.
