Am tempted by the ease of installation and the new facility to shut it down a bit at night.

I have one - very old (mark I) and reconditioned. I love it..makes the kitchen feel really cosy. I don't know about the facility to shut it down at night - ours charges up in the middle of the night using economy 7 rate electricity (when we first moved here the electric company billed us at normal rate for everything and the bill was £800 rather than the £250 ish we pay per quarter normally! so I recommend the economy 7 meter)

new ones are very expensive!
