Hi chuffed - I saw you used strawberrynet and got charged vat. I used this site a few times a few years ago and wasn't charged any vat - but then my most recent (and last) purchases were charged.
Is it just bad luck if they charge it - or have they tightened up and we'll always get charged it?

i think it is to do with how much you spend, and if you get nabbed by customs

Yes, lou's right- I got charged duty on one pot of something (Shiseido I think) that almost doubled the price, but a lot of it's the luck of the draw. I don't think it's strictly VAT, it's import duty.

I have used them 3 times, mostly for 3 products at a time, no more than €100 each time. Delivery to Ireland and no VAT charged. Will be slightly miffed if I get done for VAT next time as it is 21% here!

put your items in as individual orders - the customs limit is £18 per package. Plus you then get several parcels on one day, bonus! and the postman thinks you are really popular.
