Confused about stairgates

Hi - I'm really confused about the different types of stairgate. I borrowed some of the pressure fit ones but they don't fit onto our curved bannisters. Do you need to fix something to the bannisters - I can't see how a stairgate will fit to a curved surface otherwise. Many thanks.

You need a lascal stairgate - its like a roller blind... not cheap - about £60 new but well worth it.

It was the only one that would fit accross our dodgy stairs.

yes it fitted on ours as we had to get a small wooden block on the curved bit (top and bottom) and wedge the stairgate on...it never came off.

Thanks for this! Is this cos it has the additional bannister fittings?
