Where to get some decent wellies that will last more than 6 weeks without cracking & letting in water . . .

that's it really - for a 6 yr old - we had a pair of 2nd hand frog wellipets that lasted forever, but then she grew out of them and I couldn't find replacements. Any suggestions for good brands? - we are on a farm so they get worn an awful lot, I don't mind paying a reasonable price if they will last. Nice patterns a bonus

Rigger boots are pretty cheap from workwear sites online (about twenty quid if you avoid the big name ones). The only problem is the basic ones don't go that small unless you pay £££s, I'm a size 4 in normal shoes, luckily I can get away with a size 5 if I wear thick socks, would be a much better choice though if only I were a 6 . . .

yes, have noticed that on my searches takver... i am a 5, which does limit the choices somewhat...

I've got the most gorgeous Seasalt ones for me. Have been great so far,use them a lot but we're talking for the beach and moor which we're on a lot but no hard labour involved, unless you count hauling my 4 year old dtwinboys out of bogs that is

Can't rave about the Woolie wellies enough though. Real value for money. The Kiddorable ones are a major rip off were seriously the worst of the lot. I'll admit I was seduced by the cute ladybird ones, dd had to have them but they were crap, crap, crappity crap.

Last week I saw pink Croclike ones in Woolies really cheap but they looked to low for my dirt magnets. Shame as if they came up a bit higher I would have bought them all some. If you go into Woolies beware the heeled(practically stilleto) Bratz wellies with pom pom effect-hideous . DD 3 of coarse pined after them

That was "too low".

Can't believe I've just posted 3 posts about wellies on a Saturday night. Soooo need to get out more!!!!!!!!

well, not sure what dd does to them, but they don't survive long . .. she spends an awful lot of time outdoors esp over holidays climbing trees & making dens so perhaps that is the trouble . . . we have a lot of nettles & brambles around so even in the summer she tends to wear wellies most of the time
