Digital dab radio

My dp is 30 in 5 weeks. Ages ago he was after a digital dab radio for work but they were too expensive. Have just been looking online and they seem to have come down in price - one in comet for £20 and one in amazon for £25. Can someone tell me if this is what he is after or ask dh's/dp's please. (thick emotion)

Can you link to the items?

Macdog · 27/08/2008 13:26

is this the comet one??
it looks pretty good for the price

Why do they insist on calling them digital dab radios?

DAB stands for digital audio broadcast so they are repeating themselves

Like saying PIN number. No, it's a PIN you fools!

Sorry, rant over.

Yes, that does look good value doesn't it Macdog?

Would these be ok do you reckon or is it worth paying out for more expensive ones.

Amazon one here

Macdog · 27/08/2008 13:56

I would think that either of those will do the job, in fact I am seriously considering getting the Comet one for myself!

IMHO a radio is a radio. we had an expensive one given to us as a wedding present, and it has broken. We later found out that a lot of people had the same one and the same problem

One thing.

Check out your area here

Don't want to spend good money if reception will be naff.

Thanks SG. Never thought of that but yes it will work where we are.
Think will just get the comet one as it is for him to take to work so will probably get a bit scuffed etc

I have a Roberts one which I bought in Tesco Extra. It could only have been about £20. It works fine. I suppose a lot depends on the reception you get.
