Chicco For Me - Fit in Ford Ka?

Hi,

I'm thinking of buying one of these, but just wondering if anyone knows if it fits into the boot of a Ford Ka?

The measurements are slightly longer than my boot space, but I was thinking perhaps I could squeeze it in diagonally if I took the boot shelf off?

Has anyone else got a Ford Ka - what pushchair did you buy?

Thanks in advance. x

hiya, if you take off the shelf you should be able to get just about anything in there lol,
have you looked at the bebe confort streety?its similar but folds much smaller?

Thanks Sazm, I'm also looking at the Streety too! I'm going up to Babies R Us tommorow to see if I can try it in my car. I have actually seen it in the flesh and it seems really nice.

I was just slightly more tempted by the Chicco as it comes with the base for the car seat and I think that could save a lot of effort.

I've been having similar probs choosing the right pram (much to the delight of my DH!

The chicco does fold a bit bigger BUT you can fold it when rear facing which is a big plus (can't with the streety). The carseat base is a good bonus too (not that I need a carseat) The chicco is a bit less sturdy than the streety though and the hood came off everytime I tried to fold it.

Babies R Us are good though and will let you try it in your car - didn't help my decision though! LOL

the chicco one is also quite aukward to take the seat unit off. the streety is just a quick press of a button and it lifts off for if you want to change the direction of it/put the car seat on.

Thanks Sazm and Asur, I think they may sell it in a Mothercare superstore place in the next city (the chicco). I'll have a look today and see.

Update - saw both pushchairs today, going to go for the Streety as it was a lot more solid and simple to operate than the Chicco. It also fitted in my boot easier too. Thanks for your input.

cool, that was the two i was torn between, but have ended up with a buzz! i know not small and compact and nothing like i had decided lol.
i may still get a streety at a later date lol

good luck x

I liked the Buzz too, but when I actually saw it folded down it was probably too big for the car.

Hey people ,i'am new to the chat gang... i have a FORD KA TOO!!!! THE BOOT IS SO TINY!!!! great thinking for the run a round town and just enough space in the back for 2 kids!!!! However.... i've bought the new Mamas&Papas Skate pushchair, and lets just say my car could fit in the seat... of the pushchair!!! absoultely massive pushchair but it had every feature i wanted.... does anyone have the primo viaggio car seat with car seat base???

the car seat base is HUUUGE on the back seat of my FORD KA, im almost skeptical if its adjusted properly if half on the seat and half off it!!!

WEll, to add to your convo.... my ford ka was'nt the best car to choose for the practability of having a baby with such a large pushchair and car seat AND car seat base! BUT... its a great little run-a-round car, cheap on petrol and small enough to grap the tiny car park spaces at sainsbury's!!!

Basically does anyone have the peg perego car seat in their ka or in their car or know of anyone who has this brand and can advise me on the quality of it? also on how it fit in their car...

Thanks

ello, everyone thanks for your responces.

I have the skate and car seat 2008 version.

MY MAIN CONCERN WAS THE PRIMO VIAGGIO TRI FIX CAR SEAT - my ford ka had no air bag in the front passenger seat and im in the UK. the car seat base is MASSIVE on my back seat with hardly any toom so has anyone put a rear facing child seat in the front (with airbags off) in a KA or any other car? Thanks for being so helpful
