What are they like to use? Is it worth paying extra for the Vibe so I can fold it with doubles kit on?

I will have a 17 month old DD and newborn DC3 so will definitely need a double. Don't want to do sling and pushchair malarkey!

Hi

I have used both and whilst there are pros and cons to both I would definitely recommend a P&T over other doubles.

I prefer the vibe as the brake is far easier to use and the main seat is bigger and looks more comfortable. Had a sport when DS2 was born and swapped for the Vibe when he was about 7 months so did not use the vibe for a tiny baby.

Being able to fold with doubles kit on is handy and as all doubles are a bit heavy having slightly less weight is good.

Vibe is slightly wider on the back wheels than the sport but still goes through normal doorways easliy.

Hope this helps

Thank you annie, good advice there. Is it really worth paying the extra money for the Vibe though? I think they are bringing out a Dash model which has the brake on the handlebar like the Vibe, do you think this will make a difference?

Yes I think it would - the dash also has the plastic footwell which is much more practical. Also forgot to say that access to the basket is much easier on the sport as the side of the basket has a press stud which you can undo from the side. The vibe doesn't seem to have this and it is hard to get things in and out of the basket when the younger child is over six months and in the rear seat, the dash looks more like the sport so I assume that the basket would be accessed in the same way.

Not sure when the dash will be available in UK though.

Other pros for the vibe -

The sunhood - actually covers front child properly
The seats - far more comfy and padded for children
The harness - is far better, user friendly

Cons
Agree with annieshaf re: shopping basket. Now have to hooks to go on handle bar for shopping.

Thanks ladies, I will have to see where I can get a good deal on the Vibe, where did you get yours from?

OP posts:
bethoo · 10/08/2008 21:38

Dash is out soon as i am hoping to get one.
it also has a zip on the rain cover rather than just slipping it over and also breaks on the handle. though is is over £500 with doubles kit.

pgwithnumber3 · 10/08/2008 21:39

Is the Dash the same as the Sport bethoo but just tweeked to be a bit better?

OP posts:

oh gosh i remember asking about the differences! it is slightly lighter by half a kilo and i think it is similar to the vibe as it also has padded seats. the seller did not have any paper work on the dash. simlar to the vibe though but has been tweaked.

annwoo · 11/08/2008 11:48

I paid £530 for it, with doubles kit and raincover. Would recommend buying from a shop as if you have any problems they can deal with Out n' about P& T's distributor.

hi im torn between the vibe and the dash.. after watching them both on kiddicare videos im not sure the break on the dash will annoy me as u have to fold the hand;e down where as on the vibe u have a button in the middle of the handle bar... i think the vibe does look very comfy and the 2nd seat is suitible from 4 monts as the demonstration showed!!
i am really struggling to find more reviews on the vibe.. it is bigger than the sport and dash but ideal if u have a tall toddler like me.. they all have bits that would make 1 fab buggy lol!!!
good luck
i need it too xx

ihave3beauties · 02/05/2010 16:53

Im heading towards a vibe.. and even better hubby likes it so will buy me one.. omg a 1st as he hates my obsession with bggies lol... but he knows our choices are limited this time with having to have a double lol.. xx

Firawla · 02/05/2010 21:22

I have the sport, not sure if its worth the extra money for the others. Well for me it wasn't really, i've not needed to fold my buggy @ all but if you do need to its v quick to take the doubles kit off the back anyway..
I would say being wider is a downside of the vibe and for that its better off just sticking to sport?
Whichever you get definitely get the hooks that someone mentioned, and personally found the side bags rubbish it makes the buggy much wider and i didnt find they fit on very easily (maybe just me? but wasn't impressed) so they are not worth the money imo, better off with hooks and shoving stuff underneath. The sports basket although looks small, I manage to fit suprisingly large amounts of stuff under there.
You can get some really good deals on sport these days it comes out quite cheap. Not really tried the others but if you were not sure about paying more sport does the job fine, I had 17 months and newborn too

ihave3beauties · 03/05/2010 08:18

Hi
after more reading and youtube video's i think the vibe may not work either as dd is already 29lb and 2nd seat weight limit is 33lb.. im not sure what the sport 2nd seat weight limit is.. i do think your right the sport would probably be fine for me and you can get some great deals if u shop around.. i quite fancy a green... my only worry is dd is quite tall what do you think of the hood as no 4 is due late october i will really need the hood to go over her head and the rainwear too... does the sport come with the plastic bit to go over the caccon in newborn/ toddler mode?
sorry about all the questions lol.. i am quite short too do u think that will be and issue when using the double seat!!!
thank you xx
