I like to get slightly special gifts that people wouldn't buy for themselves, little luxuries...

Any ideas?

Maybe something personalised as this is always a lovely thought. Have search on eBay.

How about a personalised football top? I got one for my son withg his name on it and now have it framed on the wall.

It's tricky because I don't really know the little boy or his mum so I don't know what he already has or what he likes

Maybe a nice wooden toy like a Lanka Kade jigsaw, or some traditiona story books like Eric Carle.

These are all classic books for this age which my sister bought for me when I had my first child : Each Peach Pear Plum, Peepo,Owl Babies,Dig Dig Digging.

Ds 2 does like this though!

Again not fitting the classic toy perhaps but this game is well liked at this age and beyond.

Some lovely things Myriad although it is easy to go over budget.

Percy the Park Keeper: A Classic Treasury - DS had this as a gift - its a beautiful hardback book and will probably be the only one I add to his memory box. It was worth it for £13 but a bargain for £8 now on Amazon.
