If you've used both, which do you prefer? I was looking at the LL backpacks online and they instantly got my back up with the phrase
"Do you like the idea behind reins but hate the fact that most are frankly demeaning to both parent and child?" Look no further blah blah etc
Er, no, I actually don't consider a product which might keep my child from under the wheels of a lorry demeaning. So their marketing alone has put me off and I'm wondering if ordinary reins are the way to go... Surely ds is too young for a Manbag anyway?

I can just see the length that posts could get to - DS 6 months eating broccoli; 6 months and 1 day, carrot; and so on...

I used reins and back packs.
DP is over 6' and never had to bend over - the reins can unclip one side or the other, so instead of being attached to both sides of the child, you have one longer length attached at one side.

The back pack was great for walks etc, the reins we used on ds1 as there's only a 16m age gap. he was quite a good walker but too young to have roadsense etc so I had ds2 in pram and ds2 with reins at the side. Tied the reins to the pram quite often too if i needed hands free for counting money or packing shopping etc.

I just sold the back pack to another mnetter but still have two pairs of reins going cheap. One mothercare, one clippasafe.
