Have you tried Halfords? Oopps cannot spell it

Kelly1978 · 07/02/2005 10:43

I got mine from HALFORDS. You can get them from about a year upwards.

At a bike shop. They will make sure it fits properly too.

I second the bike shop, bought one for ds when he was 8 months and they were really good at explaining how it should fit.(the helmet should fit snugly onto the head, if you can wobble it, it doesnt fit, also watch out for peaks and extra bits as these can break on impact and cause more harm).

RTKangaMummy · 07/02/2005 20:32

pleaase make sure that the helmet is covering their foreheads

It really worries me when they have it resting on the back of the head

Toys R Us did have some of a very small size last summer.

Please go to a proper bike shop where they are used to fitting kids' helmets, not Halfords or Toys R Us where the assistants haven't got specialist knowledge.

Definitely go to a proper bike shop. They fit them incredibly well and explain how and why they should be worn. We always get them fitted at the bike shop and whenever the kids outgrow them we ask them to check them for size before handing them down to the next child.
