Anyone have a hug-a-bub sling and can tell me a bit about it?

I want a sling that I can use when running after ds1 and dd2 when I am at things like toddler groups and when I let dd2 walk now she has eventualy found her legs! I dont plan to use it for longer than about 6 months.

Just afew questions about the hug-a-bub;

I get pretty hot so is it cool or very sweaty?

Is it ok for heavier babies? ds1 was huge, while dd2 is tiny so just wondered if the stretch was too much for a heavier baby.

Does it age well and would it be ok to try to get a 2nd hand one? Or does it stretch so that better to buy new?

If buying 2nd hand, how important is the dvd? Have noticed afew for sale dont have it but would I still be able to get the hang of it?

I wasn't planning on carrying both of them at same time, dragonhart! Hee hee. Thought I might be able to bf one whilst dealing with ds2 or something, just keep one happy whilst I dealt with t'other! Grinning at your battering ds!

Are you really after something you can put on easily though, does hug a bub fit your needs as your dd won't be able to just jump in and out? did you consider ring sling or a hip mei tei, sorry if I am making it even more difficult!!! I thought you had a baby rather than toddler, just re-read your op.

Preg with dc3 due in aug. So will have them both to run after.

Though it might be good for when bf too as I had a nightmare with ds1 when dd2 was feeding. She would look at me as if to say 'why the interuption?!' as I darted accross the room bearing my flabby belly and boob! I always envy those women who can bf without anyone realising. I always end up with everything hanging out!

Thought you were planning on doing what the lady in the forest colour pic is doing here

I don't think I could, but never say never! Ah first time you said you were pg, I understand now.

Dragonhart · 15/07/2008 08:47

Hmmm, thought I had put it in op but guess I forgot! Will blame my preg brain.

Dragonhart, I have a hugabub that I would to sell if you're interested. I haven't used it much at all as I preferred a didymos. It's sage green and has the dvd too.

Dragonhart · 17/07/2008 10:14

Thanks cloud but I have just bought one on ebay! Sure you will have no problems selling it though as they seem pretty popular.

cloudberry, I'd be interested in the hug a bug - how much did you want for it?

cloudberry · 17/07/2008 23:30

HI accessorizequeen. How does £35 sound to you?

accessorizequeen · 18/07/2008 20:08

Would you take £30 inc p&p?

cloudberry · 18/07/2008 20:35

Accessorizequeen, I'll take £35 inc p&p and it's yours!

sorry, bit much for me when they're now going on ebay for less than £30. Plus I've bought a mei tei as well!

cloudberry · 19/07/2008 07:08

Accessorizequeen, I didn't know about ebay tho' can't find any for sale on it at the moment. Not something I use really. OK I'll take £30.

cloudberry · 19/07/2008 07:09

Did you get your mei tai on ebay? How are you finding it? I'm thinking of getting one.

accessorizequeen · 19/07/2008 13:02

hi cloudberry, I've been watching several on ebay and missed out on two last week. Do you want to email me and I can paypal you or whatever, that'd be great. I got an eden mei tai (I've tried a kozy and didn't much like it) from Uk BabyWearing Swap on Yahoo, loads come up like babyhawks etc on there, terrific place to try things out. I'm too pg to carry ds2 around and try out the eden, so have loaned it to someone for a couple of weeks - she says its great! But only with a 5 month old, others less stretch for older children I suspect.

cloudberry · 19/07/2008 13:50

Hi accessorizequeen. Great, thank you. Shall I CAT you? or you could CAT me. I'll have a look at the site on Yahoo for mei tais then.

accessorizequeen · 19/07/2008 16:20

I'm not catable, haven't signed up for it. But email holyhandbag at yahoo dot co dot uk !
