Been done a million times; but I still can't find any solid wood white bunkbeds [sad]

Here are my requirements:

  1. No cheap/flimsy ones, good sturdy solid wood please.
  2. Must be able to split into 2 singles.
  3. Not boxy square ones.
  4. Ideally can have a truckle bed underneath.
  5. In ideal world would have a matching wardrobe, chest and bedside cabinet.

At a push I'll have to pay the prices and go to Aspace as they seem to be the only people who satisfy all of this.

Just thought I'd give it one last go on here in the hope of finding it a bit cheaper.

Have you tried argos or The Kids window

MrsBadger · 11/07/2008 12:01

£359 too square and boxy?

actually if these were the Aspace ones you had your eye on the sale price is v good

pootleflump · 11/07/2008 14:02

Yes, first ones too square and boxy.

It was these aspace ones I like. Trouble is I'm not keen on the furniture to match that range.

floaty, I have tried both of those.

Saw your thread, was all excited to be able to answer your question, but sadly was just going to say aspace I think they're gorgeous BTW though all the fab bedding helps

pootleflump · 11/07/2008 14:09

I like these and they're a good price but I'd also have to find a truckle that'd fit and match.

What about these

pootleflump · 11/07/2008 14:11

I always hate when someone beats me to the 'aspace' answer too! I've already got the greengate bedding to go with it!

Bunks to lust after - warning: not cheap.

Twinkie1 · 11/07/2008 14:21

Was just going to link to aspace - they have some in their sale that are beautiful - wish I could convince DH to chuck away DDs furniture so I could kit her bedroom out again from there.

pootleflump · 11/07/2008 14:23

Not keen on any of those warmfuzzy.

charliecat · 11/07/2008 14:23

what about these

pootleflump · 11/07/2008 14:31

They look nice charliecat but don't know if they'd last for years which is what I really want.

I'm in the southwest, yorkshirepud. Funny enough I've just suggested the same thing to dh, just need to find somewhere now- I'm sure there must be places around; just had no need to look for them before.

What about these?

I would go for Aspace though!

these

pootleflump · 11/07/2008 14:56

Nothing else seems to measure up to aspace does it?

I phoned them and they said that the Jill bunks will match any of their other furniture that's finished in antique white. I've added up what I want (Belvoir range) and it comes to £2220... that's before I add 3 mattresses and delivery .

OP posts:
Amphibimum · 11/07/2008 15:02

i have 2 sets of aspace bunks
theyre nice... but coz they were pricey and separate into single beds, i'm going to have to stick with them forever and ever.
which is boring!
i wish id bought ikea stuff so that i could redecorate in 5 yrs with totally clear concience and buy all new, age appropriate furniture.

pootleflump · 11/07/2008 15:09

Why's it so difficult????? I've just phoned 16 local pine places and only 1 of them has bunkbeds but only 1 choice of bunk .

OP posts:
Amphibimum · 11/07/2008 15:12

actually, wanna buy one of mine??

Amphibimum · 11/07/2008 15:16

i reckon things like the armoire's are maybe worth the money, as im sure theyre v good quality... but the bunks... well, solid wood bunks are solid wood bunks arent they... espicially considering you dont mind painting them yourself... id rather get cheaper bunk frame and get good mattresses myself.

what are those bunks that are adaptable? you can add and subract things like slides and desks, tents and stuff... they look like good value coz they can be adapted as the children grow

MrsBadger · 11/07/2008 15:20

stompa or thuka - they're boxy though
