Car seat for 1 year old?..

I need to get a bigger car seat as my DD has outgrown the maxi cosi rear facing one. There seems to be a vast range of prices for seats for 9 months-4 years (ranging from £30-£300!...) Are the cheaper ones as safe?

Can anyone recommend a good one that will be easy to move between our two cars?

Many Thanks.

we've got two - an expensive brittax one which is fiddly to put in a a bit of a pin to use and a mothercare own brand one (whic i think was about £60) and is dead easy to use, move from car to car and ds prefers to sit in it. it appears to have everything that more expensive seats have, like side impact protection etc.
