Help: Can I use the Stokke bumper with a newborn baby?

I bought a second hand stokke sleepi and was given lots of bedding to go in it - but am not sure when I can start using the bumper. It's attached to the bars with velcro so no strings/choking hazard there. Just wondered what's safest as SIDS advice is no bumpers.

TIA

K

I think since the SIDs advice is no bumpers, you'll have to take it off - the problem with SIDs is about temperature and airflow, not the more obvious choking hazard from the strings. I think you can use bumpers from 1 year old.

Yes was having a thick moment actually, took the bumper out this morning and it's obviously for the sleepi rather than the newborn mini bit so won't be able to use it for quite some time! Thanks!

Curious tho, why are moses baskets ok then?
