Extendable Dining Room tables........

I'm extending my playroom and need a new (to me) table.

It must be hard wearing and not too delicate.

I've seen a lovely one in Ikea (£125) it's 1.4 and extends to 1.8 and 2.3m but it's 90 cm wide which is a bit wide....

Can anyone find me one that extends at least that long...but is a bit narrower maybe 70cmish?

TIA

I noticed that one today too in the catalogue and thought it would suit us fine - our current table is just short of four foot wide so 90cms would be perfect - shame we can't afford it atm!

Does it have to be brand new (seen as though it's for the playroom?) - if not perhaps you could try ebay - just done a search and there's lots on there.

Is it the lovely light wood on on the left hand page of the catalogue?

I really like it.....but not sure if it will take up too much play space.

On the prev page there is a brown wood one that doubles in size...I wondered if 2 together would work...but thats 90 cm too

Yer - that's the one - tbh I don't think 90cms (3')is that wide - have no idea where you'd find a narrower one.

Also, could you push it against a wall then pull it out for dining? We've done that with our current one to give more play space in the past.

KatieMac · 01/02/2005 22:08

Our current one is 60cm wide ....it's OK - could be wider, the kitchen table is 75 and that's perfect

No - couldn't push against the wall....'cos it's to use with highchairs (currently 6 of them - I childmind with my DH) they need a bit of space.......

There's one on page 204 with 4 chairs for £95. Could you put two of those together?

KatieMac · 01/02/2005 22:18

Yes that's what I thought with the one on p197
But you one would be 2.2m (all the time)....too big.....Thanks for your help

The sad thing is that I had a round Ikea table (in white plastic) and I gave it away as 'I would never have room for it again' .....it had 2 leaves to extend it

Always the way Katie - one on pg 197 is nice. Does the pic at the bottom mean it can be extrnded?

KatieMac · 02/02/2005 10:09

Yep from 90 to 127 to 165 cms.....but it just doesn't fit
