Mobile phone down loo!!

help! Dropped my mobile phone down loo last Friday. wiped every bit dry, put it back together and plugged in to charger...am waiting for it to come back to life. What can I do to revive it? Do I have to get a new one? and if I do can I keep my number and retrieve all my stored numbers. thanks for any help - am very lost without it and haven't a clue.

I've done this a few times

Phone never did recover but the SIM card was ok, so if you're numbers are stored to that, if you can get another handset from the same network you should be ok.

It may be a bit late now but take it apart as much as poss & leave it somewhere warm for a few days - there have been threads about this before (will find one in a sec) & I think they mostly say don't switch on until completely dry.

If phone is dead your sim card will be OK, & if you have a memory card so will that, but anything stored in the phone itself will be lost

Oh I thought you'd just done it. It's probably too late as you are supposed to take the battery out asap and leave it out to dry.

My phone that ended up in the loo died, but DH's survived being washed in the washing machine.

Just take your sim card to the shop and get a new phone!

thanks everyone, just taken it apart again and leaving it in airing cupboard. So if my Sim is OK does that mean I still keep my number?

yes sim is your number and phone no's stored on SIM but you may have lost any no's stored on phone
