Anyone have any idea whether Wii games bought in the US would be compatible with the UK version? They seem to be much cheaper over there.... surprise, surprise!

No they aren't. Have a feeling you need to get your Wii chipped or something.

Sorry for my lack of tech Knowledge. Went to NY last year and DH gave me strict instructions not to bother buying Wii games for him over there cos they wouldn't work.

The TV systems are different - like having Region 1,Region 2 etc for DVDs. (Ours is called PAL & theirs is called something else)

this might help

no, they won't be. they're region locked. and ours are PAL, theirs are NTSC

Ah! Thanks all. Interesting about the freeloader thingy, Wendy. Mind you, that reduces the saving on the one game (Guitar hero) I was going to get my friend to bring over next week.... (£65 for game + one guitar as opposed to $90 (£45 ish) over there). Anyway, back to Toysrus then!
