Slings/ baby carriers for a 1 yo

I really really need to get a new sling for DD who is nearly one. She has been carried in a wrap sling since birth and loves it but she gets very wriggly now on my front so I can't carry her for very long. I was thinking of a back sling so tried a Mei Tai which she absolutely hated with a fiery passion - if I show it to her she starts screaming.

So do you have any recommendations for a back sling which can also be used as a front carry (facing both in and out if possible); which can be put on singlehanded and, ideally, that I can lift DD into and out of while wearing the sling so it can be used on tube journeys etc.. I've looked at the Patapum and Ergo but am feeling a bit stuck. Please help!

Ergo is brilliant, really recommend it. Have a search through past threads too, there are absolutely tons on what slings are best..

I had a hip hammock for dd, made by playtex, which is very easy to put on and off. Would you consider carrying her on your hip?

When I;m just carrying her, I tend to carry her on my hip so open to the idea! It just seems that most of the carriers for children this size and up are a bit complicated and require a fair amount of cooperation which I'm not really likely to get!

I would recommend a ring sling as when you are not using it they fold down a lot and can go in a pocket.
You can do back carries in them by putting them on your hip and moving them onto your back.
They are not hugely comfy over long distances (more than an hourish say) but are great for standing/sitting as there is no waist belt/padding to get in your way.
(If you look on my profile there is a pic of me carrying DD1 in a ring sling at 2.2 years. She is not happy about it, and I am looking smug as she now cannot run under a car like she wanted to...)
