Hi, Our daughter starts high school in Sept and we have agreed to get her a mobile phone.

Does anyone have any recommendations for one which doesn't cost a fortune and is pay as you go.

Thanks in advance.

Have you got an old one? You can get a free sim from orange and put 10 quid on for the month and you get 300 free text (mostly what they use IMO) plus the 10 quid to use as talk time.

Think some of the others have similar deals on pay as you go.

We got dd one from Virgin for £20 - I just went in and told them we wanted "a brick" - it's pay as you go and was £20; she was happy because it was pink! The basic ones without phones etc are very cheap now; although you usually have to buy a minimum £20 credit when buying. £10 lasts dd around 2 months, as she is only allowed to use the phone to text dp and tell him she's home/on her way etc: it's not used for social calls at all.
