Planning a trip to London soon with DD16. She has long been obsessed with Jellycat and the shops around here are no longer stockists :( so trying to factor this in.
Really not bothered about the whole “Jellycat experience” -she’s 16. Her vision is that London’s shops will be stocked floor to ceiling with adorable Jellycats to admire. So MN - where’s the best place to go for volume and cuteness factor in London? Thinking Harrods or Selfridges, but will either be worth popping into for plain browsing or is it all behind an “experience” firewall with extra payment and queues needed?

Selfridges used to be good but haven’t been for a while.

Harrods still has Jellycat Airlines which will definitely look the best in cuteness. It's free, you might have to queue on the weekend, but it's been there for a year so any queue shouldn't be all that long.
Don't forget Liberty's, but it'll likely be smaller as the whole shop is smaller. It's only a 15 min walk from Selfridges.

Harrods staff are the friendliest in my experience, but that is based on a weekday afternoon trying on some jewellery (at their insistence) with my mum.

Don’t know exactly what the Jellycat stock is like but you could also try Hamley’s - very close to Liberty and Selfridge’s so you can do all three in, say, two or three hours allowing plenty of browsing time.

selfridges! I went last week, has way more than Harrods

Does Selfridges still have the Jellycat Fish and Chip Shop?

Selfridges have a jellycat experience, your DD might like it. You have to prebook https://jellycat.com/jellycat-fish-chips-experience-london/

Thank you. As above I’m not sure about the whole experience thing - feels like it’s either for young children or “fish and chips” a bit of a gimmick for foreign tourists? Also possibly more pressure to buy something (I’m not 100% going to). Have you been and would you do it with a teenager?

Hi my DD is 11 she thought it was ok. There were younger and older kids in the queue including some adults only. There is not an obligation to buy but there are fish and chip jelly’s cats that are not on normal sale. If you want to go I would book have a look around (it’s all open) if it’s not for you just don’t queue up. It’s free
