Stylish waterproof work coat for a grad job

DD21 will be moving to London and starting her grad role soon. I want to get her a stylish waterproof work coat. I’m thinking maybe a trench style coat but I’m not certain about that.

She does love colour and patterns but also likes more understated items too, she likes to mix and match if you get what I mean.

Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance!!

Oh wow, thank you, this is absolutely lovely, unfortunately out of budget 😥

I’m thinking up to £150 for budget

Protected Species - love them but pricey

Does she actually want one? All those scream my mum chose this for me. Most people in London seem to have a nice jacket and umbrella unless cycling because it's never far from a tube station.

Yes, don’t worry, she is looking herself as well. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her with an umbrella since she was old enough to make that decision herself. She is moving in with friends. She is a big walker so her commute will involve 30 minutes walk to a tube station (she is training for another marathon at the moment so gets in all the steps she can by going to a further away station, couldn’t be less my daughter if I tried 🤣) and then a 10-15 mins walk to office, so I’m keen to find something both properly waterproof, but properly her style.

As for the style, she and most of her friends wore trench coats to sixth form and her current coat is a lovely a line grey woollen thing with a big collar, so the ones shown are actually quite up her street. The only things she doesn’t want is an ‘outdoorsy’ raincoat as she has one of those that she cycles, hikes and dog walks in, nor a puffer jacket as she would prefer to layer up.

I’ve also had a word, and she’s said she would prefer something a bit shorter, but also said she’s not certain about that. Very helpful I know 🤣

Thanks everyone for your help already. @Sproufortheelf she loves some of the protected species shorter styles like the Harrington www.protected-species.com/product/waterproof-harrington-midnight-navy/
