Hi our daughter is now 5 weeks (was 5 weeks early! although now 7lb 13oz!!) and we are looking at using our 2nd hand urban detour for the first time tomorrow. We brought it for dog walks etc but haven't yet used it as also have a smaller light weight icandy cherry that we have been using day to day etc.

So far on dog walks she had been carried in either our moby wrap or connecta which are fab.

Anyhow tomorrow is the first of many dog events we are attendin this summer and we will be out in a field all day so not able to carry her as so warm - will be going to get the urban detour from Mums later, which I know lays flat and says suitable from birth etc - just concerned about how small she will be in it and that she might rattle about so to speak - will put the headhugger bit in though. just concerned as will be first time not facing us all the time and will be 'open' to dogs etc jumping in - highly unlikely but i am paranoid! - is there anything I can do? I did consider getting a soft carry cot thing - cgi.ebay.co.uk/Graco-Soft-Carrycot-in-Caramel_W0QQitemZ200233735968QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item20 0233735968&trkparms=72%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C65%3A12&trksid=p3286.c0.m14 - and attaching it in - does fit etc have looked and the wedge under it comes out so would be flat - she would still have to face out but be a bit more protected due to sides/end?

is something like this necessary or am i just being totally paranoid?

waht would you do?

oh and cant take the cherry as no way could push it on the field!

i would pad it out with blankets then like roll the sides of the blanket up sso it makes the seat small and snug iyswim then put the headhugger in

Think about getting a shade a babe, it will stop anything from getting in as well as protecting her from the sun.
