Shoe recommendations needed

Recommendations needed for comfy but supportive shoes that aren't too heavy in the hot weather.

Hypermobile, flat, swollen, sore and achy feet.

Need something for the summer for when we're on holiday (UK) and walking around exploring for the day etc.

I have a very supportive pair of brooks trainers but they are so heavy and hot for this weather. Sandals and sliders fine for short walks or on the beach but just need something light but supportive that will go on my wide feet for longer walks.

I have tried sketchers but i dont find the heel deep enough.

I used to wear Skechers, simply because I couldn't find anything else. But they were very 'soft' and lost their shape pretty quickly.

I bought a pair of trainers from Vionics a month ago (through Next to make it easier to return). The fit was perfect with a slightly raised heel and arch support. I have swollen feet and find it hard to get comfortable shoes and particularly ones that don't squeeze my toes. I've now ordered two more pairs directly from Vionics and thrown my Skechers out.

I’m hyper mobile and wear Birkenstock soft bed wide fit Boston Clogs.

Tevas are great. I can wear and wear mine with no problems at all.

Am also HSD sufferer with completely collapsed arches (fully flat feet), weak ankles and unstable knees.

For Walking I find the Nike Motiva trainers to be excellent. They fit my custom orthotics, are very lightweight and the slight rocker effect helps to compensate for the lack of arches and improves my gait. I have winter ones with gortex and summer breathable fabric ones. They are ideal for walking on holiday.

for with summer dresses I wear VIONIC or Strive sandals. Both brands feature built in orthopaedic soles with deep heel cups and arch support. They are expensive but I get many years wear out of them. They are the only sandals I can wear without pain in feet and legs. They also do slippers with built in orthotics which have really helped me pain wise.

I’ve bought a pair of Birkenstocks. My ankles and legs swell with flat shoes- but their footbeds counter act that for me. They take a few days to wear in. I’m on day 2 - but no swelling in my feet or legs.

I suggest going into a shop and being fitted for the right size.

It’s weird, I’m severely hypermobile but have really high instep. I wear fitflops and crocs and have doc sandals for going out as can’t wear heels at all

Thank you for replies. I like the look of the vionic - going to see if there's anywhere that stocks them locally to go and have a try. Also will try the nike motivas.

Not sure on the birkenstocks, but I have heard them recommended many times just not sure I can pull them off.

Definitely prepared to pay from for something thats going to last and give me some comfort!

Fitflop as definitely- they are great for long walks on my arthritic feet. Lots of styles from boots to trainers, sandals, pumps etc
