What's the most practical kind of table-centre parasol for types who tend to leave them out in the rain?

The white fabric one we've got wasn't the best choice ...

We bought a new one from the garden centre last year

and

it came with a zip-up removable plastic cover.

franch · 24/06/2008 20:08

Any less effort than putting the thing away?!

we've got a green canvas one that's left out in all weathers, it's a bit faded but we've had it a couple of years now. we put it away in the winter obviously.

franch · 24/06/2008 20:14

Where's it from moshie?

Oh yes, definitely much less effort. Just take the cover off before putting up parasol and then at night, put it down and cover back on. A bit like putting it to bed...

got it from makro, it's got a wooden pole and a handle to wind it up, it's quite big.

Hmm, can you get the ones with covers online?

Not sure, but think you can get parasol covers separately from Argos.

franch · 24/06/2008 20:27

Ah - thanks pesto

This, or this?

Yes, but check out your local garden centres for the parasols, coz you might find (like ours) that the one you want, already comes with one.

franch · 24/06/2008 20:32

Or indeed this?

Was hoping to get the parasol online - but will check if it comes with a cover. Thanks.
