Hi Self-employed but part of a regulatory network. I’ve got some upcoming business events and need to be suitably dressed. I love Hobbs trouser suits but they’re incredibly expensive. I can afford them but I don’t want to be wasteful if I can find a suit that’s just as good quality. it’s likely I’ll buy only one or two suits.

I’m thinking a nice navy suit with a crisp white blouse or a silk navy blouse and perhaps a burgundy suit too. It’s a financial role and I’m in the top three out of many firms so I do want to impress… but I’m not a corporate type AT ALL and business events fill me with dread. If I’m dressed well it does give me confidence something I’ve unfortunately lacked for most of my life… to the point I have avoided all types of these events previously. Can anyone recommend somewhere for me please xx thank you :-)

Brandalley often have discounted Hobbs items. Worth a browse.

Have you considered a nice dress, with a black blazer?
I personally find suits very ill-fitting (for my body shape), so my go-to would be a well-fitting dress in lovely colours with a black blazer on top
