Can anyone recommend a washable beach backpack without zips or plastic?

I'm looking for a beach backpack.

Something washable, def not plastic or plastic lined.

Imagine a normal beach bag tote, but with backpack straps.

No zips for sand to stick in, no complicated little pockets to fill up with sand.

I'm gobsmacked that this doesn't exist!

Or does it...? Can anyone find something similar.

Have you looked at Sixton London? They do a huge canvas backpack.

How are you envisioning it staying closed if it’s like a normal beach tote? Drawstring or a big flap or something? Beach totes are usually totally open along the wide top and this wouldn’t work in backpack format.

I suspect it doesn’t exist because any normal rucksack works fine for most people - we’ve been taking rucksacks to the beach for years and never had any issues with sand and zips sticking. And we just empty them out at the end of the day / week to get rid of the stealthy sand, same as we would with a beach bag.

The large roka Canfield bags are roll top, but with a chunky zip as well - never had any issues with those zips and sand, and if you did you could just use the roll top nature instead. Or any of the other popular roll top backpacks - this Uniqlo one looks a bit beachy? https://www.uniqlo.com/uk/en/products/E487506-000/00

I also searched for drawstring backpack and this came up which does actually look like what you’re looking for - though not as big as a large beach tote. https://amzn.eu/d/04ANg0Qg

Thanks for the idea. I just hate sand getting everywhere. My current beach bag is a large canvas tote, which is fine but when you've got wet towels and a bottle of water, it's heavy to carry on one shoulder at the end of the day!

I was thinking drawstring or rolltop closed probably. Uniqlo one is nice. I LOVE the Amazon one, hadn't found that, but yeah probs a bit on the small side for the beach.

I know I'm being difficult! 😂

Promotional companies sell cotton drawstring bags that you could use as a backpack. Random example.
They might send you one as a sample free of charge (you'd probably have to ask from your work email)
