Birthday present

Hi MNers

It’s my 38th birthday next month and I’m at the start of a divorce. I want to buy myself a birthday present; a vanity present (not something functional like “I need to replace my work shoes”)

My first thought was handbag - I don’t have any, I’ve never really been a handbag person. If I got one, I think I’d go for a tote? Has to be all leather.

Then I started thinking maybe I should get a jacket, a nice one I could wear with dresses or jeans.

My budget is £300 all in. I would love to get a complementary jacket and bag - NOT the same colour, but that I could wear together, and neither of them black. I’m 5’7, size 10, with a boxy/athletic build. I have dark brown skin and I’m not a very stylish person - trying to change that.

I would be open to other ideas for a present too. Thanks in advance!

Well, I've just pictured a very nice light olive coloured blazer jacket I saw as passing through John Lewis in the week. (Maybe Kin). With a mid tan slouchy bucket bag.
Very versatile and would go with loads of other colours.

I bought a handbag by a brand called santini firenze a few years ago. It was on sale and I wasn’t sure what to expect.

I’ve used it frequently (and was probably quite rough…) but it still looks as good as new. I’m really impressed with the quality tbh!
