Buying specs online

Has anyone here bought from the cheap online glasses places? Are they in fact cheap once everything is added up?

I'm looking for another pair of glasses for a wedding, where my usual specs are either the wrong colour or too heavy and dark for my outfit. I want some silver smaller specs just for that day and maybe to wear again if I want to feel a bit more dressed up perhaps.

I could wear contact lenses, but I actually think I look better with glasses than without these days and my eyes are hyper sensitive so the slightest thing on the day (like different makeup for example) will mean I can't wear them. My dress is blue and white patterned, all accessories blue. I don't want blue glasses unless I have no other option.

So I'm looking at single lens glasses but thinned lenses. Has anyone got experience of the online sites? At Boots they have a pair that I like but quoted over £300 so just wondering if i can get them cheaper.

I’ve used Vision Direct. They’ve been great. I usually wear lenses but like to have glasses just in case.

I'd ideally like a whole cupboard full of glasses to choose from, but very few fit me comfortably because of my strangely small nose so I usually have to go for children's glasses (well, teens really) and the range is so limited once you take away all the Disney logos!

I did and was pleased with them. I had an issue re middle distance with varifocals but as it turns out that’s a problem with varifocals generally.

We used select specs ..£6 per pair. And they last. Hubby is engineer so welding. Oil etc so he definitely puts them through the ringer

£6 a pair is certainly a bit more reasonable than the price I usually pay!

I got 4 pairs from goggles4u, 2 were regular, one with blue light protection and one sunglasses

The total price, including delivery was £75, and I think that they're great tbh

I’ve used glasses direct and been really happy with them. They send you frames to try on and return in a paid envelope so it’s all very easy. They have some very cheap options and lots of reviews to help you choose. I’ve found them to be really efficient and have had 3/4 pairs from them from less than £10.

they also have a referral offer of £35 off a £49 spend, but that’s final total after lenses and any other discounts so works out quite a good deal. Happy to PM the link if you’re interested.
