Drop coffee machine that actually makes hot coffee that stays hot.

Any recommendations? I just want hot coffee but once I add milk it’s lukewarm warm. Is the only answer heating the milk? I’d rather have a great machine.

The machine can’t make it stay hot. Surely that’s down to the mug?

Our Delonghi Smart has instructions as to how to programme the water to be hotter- I remember it involved pressing the buttons or holding them- we had to watch a Youtube tutorial in the end! However, it's only hot enough for my partner, I still microwave milk for 40 seconds as I can't be arsed with the faff of using and cleaning the milk steamer wand.

I tend to drink white americanos. The coffee machine doesn't heat water sufficiently, so I always add boiling water from the kettle to top up the espresso.

I often wonder if tastes in how hot a drink should be have changed over a generation? Am sure I saw something online about younger people not understanding why a drink should be piping hot, and how older people (certainly true of me in my 50s) prefer to savour a hot drink which you can't do if it's luke warm. This might account for the amount of 'hot' coffees I have to return to the baristas?
