Thinking about getting the fisher price lights and sounds baby monitor

I have that one at my folks and the even cheaper 'Safety 1st' one here. Both work really well, particularly the Safety 1st one, which has both units portable, so you can move it round for naps real easy. They are more static-y than posh ones.

The baby monitor we had for DD3 was the cheapest ever....a set of ears .

BUT it depends on the layout of your house....ours is open-plan and we found that it was not necessary.
