Hi all, planning my Mother of the room outfit - but really hate the stuffiness of the dresses I've seen so far (Veni Infantino, etc). What does the Hive think about something like this? It's a Shibumi coat, under which I would wear a very plain sheathlike dress, and I like a big hat. I got Chat GPT to superimpose my head onto a photo so it actually looks like me.

Or, same outfit with smaller hat?

I like it.

I think it's lovely and the bigger the hat, the better! :)

It's very nice, but I'm not convinced by the hat.

@NothingLeftToInheritDarlings Can I say this gently - the hat is too big. It’s making you top heavy and the crown is too deep for 2026. It looks around 20 years old at least. I’ve attached some more chic examples. Brim turned down and smaller crowns. I know these are Royal Family at Ascot but the hats are far more modern and not overwhelming. A big hat with a big crown drowns you . Look at Hostie Hats for inspiration. Reasonably priced and lots of shapes and colours I think. Carol Middleton always gets it right.
