Wool mattress? Anyone got one?

We are desperate for a new mattress, but obviously they are a big purchase and we dont want to make a mistake. I get so hot at night that I want one made of natural fibres, we also want coil sprung. Ive been browsing the wool mattresses, just wondered if anyone had any experience of these?

Many years ago my grandparents had wool mattresses on the beds we used when we stayed there and they were lovely! Cosy in winter yet somehow miraculously not melty and sticky in summer. I’m a convert to wool duvets but haven’t gone as far as the mattress yet for myself!

Yes we have the duvet (ours is wool room), so lightweight but warm as well! Really tempted by the mattress.

We have a wool filled, coil sprung mattress by Hypnos, that we got about 4 years ago. It is fantastic. Very comfortable, never too hot or cold. We driver a good 1.5-2 hrs in a bed shop lying on different mattresses to check them out.

We have a wool mattress.
It was bought in Spain on a blanket tour. It was made in Birmingham.
This was over 10 years ago it is so comfortable and cosy.
Cool in summer warm in winter. We also got the mattress protector, duvet and pillow cases all in wool.
Cost £1500 for everything. Best thing we have ever bought.

We have a Warren Evan’s wool mattress. It’s good. I’m a huge fan of tempur mattresses, which we used to have, but the one is nice abd comfortable.

I've been looking at a John Lewis one. Hopefully going to test some tomorrow. My house gets so hot in the summer so I won't be getting memory foam again.

I’ve been trawling websites to see where I can actually test one in a show room, unfortunately doesn’t seem to be any near us. I’ve been looking at Warren Evans and the Woolroom. I might try our branch of J Lewis.
