Best nappies for leaks at night?

weekirsty667 · 22/02/2026 19:22

Hi,

My 14 month old sleeps 14 hours at night and im finding she leaks through due to this.

She has recently only been able to use pampers nappies size 4's as she gets rashes with other brands (very annoying as could use Aldi..etc prior to size 4)

Looking to see if anyone has experienced the same and what did they try/use?

Thanks in advance

I tried everything, all different supermarket brands also and only thing that worked was a size up in pampers and not putting it on as tight.

Also I switched to the vests that don’t have the buttons under the nappy and switched to vests that are the same length/style as a tshirt

Thanks I tried sizing up but had same issue, I will try the best without buttons

Sizing up the vest with buttons worked for me. It gave the nappy more room to expand. Give 18-24 month nappies a try or even the next size up.

Thanks I'll give it a try

Are you using pull ups or nappies? I find the pull ups far better as the have more elastic to keep everything in and so don’t move as much, I found them much better for preventing leaks. Try the pampers night pull ups.

Oh I’ve no idea then, sorry! Hope you find a solution. It’s annoying having to wash sheets daily

Sounds quite small size? My 9 month old girl (average centile) has just moved up to size 5 nappies. My 2 yo girl is in size 6 pull ups.

are you sure size 4 is a good fit?

If you move to a 5 you can get a 5+ (which is a 5 with extra wee absorbing power). I would highly advise!

(have 3 dcs and have done lots of nappies over the last 5 years)

I will give it a try although she is only 9.5kg so may be big on her?

Sainsbury sell Pampers 4+ nappy pants, give those a try. Had the same issue with my little one.

Does she have milk overnight/before bed? Bottle or breast?
We had to reduce bedtime milk and bring it forward as well to stop night time leaks and supplement with a snack shortly before bath/bedtime.
My son also has had issues with night time leaks due to 13+ hours between changes as a good sleeper too.
Even though he was around 50% centile he was on in size 8 pampers nappies not long after 1yo so I wonder if switching to nappies in the next 1-2 sizes up would actually be better. And defo size up her night outfits to make sure not squishing the nappy.
We recently have to add in a booster pad as he's reaching the max absorbency of size 8 at 2yo. So we have started adding in these reusable boosters - https://amzn.eu/d/06cerEEi which are doing the trick, not sure how would fit in a size 4 nappy though!

Trying the size 5 nappy pants tonight, see how it goes 🤞🏼🤞🏼

So the size 5s were worse than size 4s they were loose on her and dhe obviously peed through the gaps. I have got normal vests today and will try the 4s with no button vests tonight and see how it goes
