Good evening
Can anyone recommend a good mattress that’s lasted?
I have a silent night orthopaedic and it’s finished. I’m looking for a new one and going round in circles with the choices.
I need something firm, one that I can turn over as well as rotate, not pillow top or memory foam. I can pay up to £1000 if it’s going to last me and not dip or sag. My partner is four or five stone heavier than me and he gets right up close to me through the night so it needs to be one that doesn’t create a hammock.
I’ve just bought a panda mattress topper and it’s really made me realise how bad my mattress is.
Can anyone help please and tell me your worst and best buys?

I've got a Marks and Spencer wool and silk one. It settled a bit but is so comfortable.

Honestly, go to a mattress shop like Dreams or Benson. Use their diagnostic mattress thingy and then try various ones in the firmness/style they suggest. What works for some random MNetter is not guaranteed to work for you.

John Ryan by design, their advisers are so helpful. We're on our second one from them, the first did 9 years.

Could you link to it please if it’s still being sold?

Sorry, no idea how to do that, Just look on their website. There aren't many like it. I've had it a while.

Go to an actual shop and try some out.

I had a look but for some bizarre reason they don't stock superkingsize mattresses or beds.

I got a Sleep Soul Cloud mattress a couple of years ago. Not expensive and I love it. It's so comfortable. I had contemplated Emma etc but the reviews put me off. They do loads of different types too. Www.sleepsoul.co.uk

Mine's only a king-size. John Lewis do similar?
