hello ladies,
was wondering if anyone had read this book, my 14 yr old niece is about to turn 15 and has asked for this, from me, as her present. Don't know much about him other than his supposed "sexploits"!! so don't know how suitable it would be for a 15 year old?? Any thoughts?? Ta. x

I'd rather cutty-wut offy-woff my breasty-wests with a rusty breadknife.

[shudder] @ Russell Brand

mollysawally · 13/06/2008 20:06

I've read it. I didn't find it that shocking, but for a 15 yr old it might be a bit explict.

maidamess · 13/06/2008 20:07

I don't think its suitable for a 15 year old.

Talks about prostitutes, drug use and sexy stuff. he makes a good case for giving up all three, but I wouldn't recommend.

Dragonbutter · 13/06/2008 20:08

i read the first few pages. just him waffling on about sex addiction. that was enough for me.

billiejo · 13/06/2008 20:10

ah, thought as much. she's an "emo" and thinks he's lovely ......barf!! okey dokes, thanks for your help. x

I love Russell & I enjoyed his book but it is quite sexual in nature

Thats true maidamess. He does go into quite a bit of detail so probably not suitable.

Thinking about it, I wouldn't want my 15yr old reading it.

mollysawally · 13/06/2008 20:13

He's a guilty pleasure of mine.

I know its wrong to fancy him .. but I can't help it

bluefox · 13/06/2008 20:26

A few of dds friends got this for christmas (15 year olds). Haven't read it but dont think that there's much these days that would shock a 15 year old.

notasheep · 13/06/2008 20:32

havent the time

TrinityRhino · 13/06/2008 20:37

there is a book called that????

Cynthia32 · 13/06/2008 20:41

do you realise how much a 15 year old knows? I think some of you are under-estimating their knowledge a bit! They learn all this is PSE lessons at school, from their mates etc etc. Although every 15 year old is different, maybe read it first and decide what you think, as you know her better than we do.

AnyFuleKno · 13/06/2008 20:41

I love Russell Brand on the radio but found this a dark and depressing read to be honest, and much too explicit for me (prude). Mind you a 15 yr old Emo would probably love it for the same reasons. And it might put em off drugs too!

DarrellRivers · 13/06/2008 20:43

buy it, but censor it with a black marker pen

mollysawally · 13/06/2008 20:45

I agree that 15 yr olds know a lot, but I don't think I could advocate an auntie buying this book for their 15yr old niece.

ELR · 13/06/2008 20:46

i would say not suitable, only because you need to be an adult to read stuff like that imo

billiejo · 13/06/2008 20:48

she's definitely old for her years but think i'll play the prudish aunt and give it a body swerve....my sis (her mum) would probably thank me for that. thanks all.
