H&M Baby Sizing

Hi Ladies!

I’m expecting my little arrival in February, and am slightly nervous that I have not got enough ‘newborn’ sizes.

I have many H&M baby grows/co-ords in 1-2 months as they seemed on average the right size. Has anyone else brought this size for their newborn and would recommend?

TIA x

I would wait and see how big your baby is. I don't think we used any newborn sized clothes.

Have someone who can nip to the shops once you know what size your baby is, they also grow fast so just accept you need to wash more frequently until they get beyond the really fast growing stage. My mum nipped to buy baby grows for me because dd arrived a lot smaller that expected, the hospital gave me a preemie sized baby gro initially as the newborn sized ones I’d brought swamped her. The flip side is I know people who never used their newborn size and went straight into 0-3 months.

Does your hospital trust do a 36w scan for everyone? If so, you can use that to guide you a bit. Mine showed that DD1 was on the smaller side, so we nipped out and got some tiny baby sizes (very helpful as she was 5lbs 12oz and didnt wear newborn until she was about 3months old!). If you have roughly newborn size, you should be fine. You can always order some bits for next day delivery if you need to or even if you go to a supermarket. Our nearest Asda had a good range of smaller sizes and Tesco baby clothing is on the smaller side anyway, so anything newborn from there will fit smaller babies too.
