Where to buy stylish, affordable sofa?

I spent £2k on a light grey sofa 3 years ago and it has got absolutely destroyed despite having scotch guard on it. We have just moved house and I'd like to buy a new much cheaper sofa (something that hopefully doesn't stain when you spill water on it!).

Advice on where to buy and any suggestions on material, colour or style would be much appreciated. Walls are currently Magnolia....I know, all my family have said that my choice is very 2000s but the house is quite dark and depressing Magnolia made it feel more sunny!

How did it get destroyed? I bought two light grey sofas in 2017 from DFS of all places and they're still going strong and we have cats and an ADHD 7 year old who thinks they're a trampoline! I used to get them steam cleaned annually but then I just bought a shark upholstery cleaner and do it myself, also great for spills etc.

I would look at IKEA and get one with washable covers.

1 baby with severe reflux and a 3 year old with autism who refuses to use a toilet...

Sofology charge a fortune and their quality is no better than IKEA. In fact I’d say it’s worse for twice the price.

Came here to suggest this! Our current sofas is an Ikea one. The first cover (white!) lasted about 4 years before it started looking a bit grubby. The sofa itself was still in great shape though, so we just replaced the cover (with another white one 😬) for about £250 - much cheaper than a new sofa!

With a baby and a 3yo, honestly I'd avoid anything light again no matter how much Scotchgard you put on it — grey shows every mark. Mid-tone flat-weave or chenille hides stains far better than light fabric, and if you can get removable washable covers (IKEA's whole business model) that's the real cheat code. One more tip: check what the guarantee actually covers — most long guarantees are frame-only, so the "10-year" bit on an advert isn't the fabric.
On where to buy for your budget: IKEA (washable covers), DFS sale section, and the ex-display/second-hand market are all worth a look. There's also a smaller Leeds maker, Royal Rest Interiors, that manufactures its own sofas in West Yorkshire with a 10-year guarantee and Cash on Delivery only — so you pay when the furniture arrives, not weeks before. Not the cheapest option, but the payment terms make comparison shopping less stressful.

We got a bumba sofa- quick delivery, modular, stylish and washable!

Stylish is obviously a very subjective concept! But I just bought a new L shaped 3 seater sofabed from B&Q and I love it. It was £750 quid.

We've got messy kids and pets so it would have been pointless spending any more on a sofa. We'll get a really posh one when they've all left home.

I've got a Nockeby from IKEA. It's not my dream sofa but cheap and you can get custom made covers for it from places like Norsemaison/ Comfortly etc.
